What a week we've had! We've gotten to know each other, made new friends, and organized ourselves for the school year.
A little update on our routines:
We will always write our homework down in our Assignment Notebook. The assignments are also updated daily on our website here, under the "Assignments" tab.
We are beginning to dive into our textbooks, so the homework will begin to pick up this week.
If you have one, bring your device with you to class each and every day. Parents: Check your emails for the Smoky Row BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy. (If you haven't received any emails from me, let me know so that I can add you to the Parent Email group!)
The dates for upcoming grade level & school-wide events are linked under the "Schedule & Calendar" tab on our website. Both the Carmel Clay and the Smoky Row calendars are available!
Our first school-wide assessment of the year will take place over the next two weeks. The test is a Math & Reading NWEA assessment, so that we can have an idea of where your child currently is within these two subjects.
Our first classroom assessment will be NEXT FRIDAY, August 19th - it will be a test on Lesson 1 in Social Studies. A study guide will come home with your child so that they can use it as a guide as they begin to study for this.
As always, don't forget to text @6cb76 to the number 81010 to receive our classroom text updates on your phone!
